Diagnostic Characteristics:
The Bugeye is a Wave 4 release using the Hong Kong casting dated 1970. The CIPSA version of the Bugeye is unique in a number of ways. The paint colors are not
found in normal production, either HK or US. The interior is a stark white color whereas the US "white" interior has a more cream colored tint. The glass on
the CIPSA version is different having almost a pale blue tint. Some Bugeyes have Type 1 Capped redline wheels while others have the Type 3 blackwall through-hole
wheel with the raised hubcap.

Comments:
All CIPSA bugeyes have the "Power Bulges" on the rear hatch. No variations of the base or body are known.

This dark blue enamel was first known Bugeye. It was purchased off eBay in October 2004.
Bugeye in Gold
The second known Bugeye is owned by a Mexican collector, it was rediscovered in Guadalajara in November, 2005.
